CONTEXTUAL EXPLANATION

Content Analyst technology has a unique pop-up feature that aids users in dealing with unfamiliar terminology. When a user encounters an unfamiliar term, he or she simply clicks on that term. A pop-up display appears showing the ten terms in the Content Analyst representation space that are closest to the term that was clicked.

Typically, the contextual explanation function will provide the user with a good understanding of the general meaning of the term. There also is a more general implementation of this feature that can display the terms most closely associated with a passage of text. Contextual explanation has utility in applications such as intelligence analysis, where the meaning of passages of text may be obscure.
